14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. 15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. (Matthew 8:14-17 KJV)
Some religions teach that Peter was single, but this verse refers to his wife’s mother, so he had to have a wife, and that voids their teaching that priests have to stay unmarried. Notice that Jesus cured her by just touching her hand, and making the fever leave her. We should be able to do the same things, as Jesus told us to do the works that He did, and even greater works (John 14:12).
Jesus didn’t just cure some of the people that were brought to Him, but He cured them all, and cast out demons from many (Matthew 12:15). If people come to any Christian and have some faith that they can be healed by them, then we should be able to lay hands on anyone, and heal them of whatever is wrong, and cast out any evil spirits, but how many of us are doing that? Instead the church just tells the sick and afflicted to go to the doctor or hospital. Jesus would not be happy with us at all, for not doing as He commanded.
The prophecy of Isaiah
53:4 is being referred to here and it shows that when Isaiah said “by his
stripes we are healed”, he was talking about sicknesses and diseases, and not
about emotional healing like many churches try to say. What man won’t do to get
out of being accountable for our lack of being able to fulfill the commands
given us in the bible? We are to heal the sick as Jesus told us to. Thank you
Jesus for providing healing for us believers.
